Hello
My name is Danielle Renee

Loving everything about books - reading, writing, buying, selling, editing, publishing - has underscored my entire life and directed my academic journey. I am a graduate of the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program at Chatham University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Delaware, both of which were enriching experiences in honing my craft, growing my literary community, and taking opportunities I wouldn't have had otherwise.
While I tend to stick to fiction both in reading and in writing, creative nonfiction, poetry, and journalism have all sparked inspiration and stretched my writing (and TBR shelf) in new and exciting ways. Throughout my career, my journalism has been published in The Review, TrulyAus, and From The Rumble Seat, to name a few, ranging from travel listicles to artist interviews to sporting event recaps. My published creative work includes a poem in Down to the Wild Wet: An Anthology of Writing Inspired by Fallingwater and my MFA thesis in fiction, An Archaeologist's Guide to the Apocalypse, both published in 2026. Editing has also been a large part of my career, through Copy Editing roles with The Review, UD's independent student publication, and my role as an Assistant Editor in fiction with The Fourth River, the Chatham MFA program's literary journal.
I am constantly growing as a writer and have a plethora of ideas I intend to put into the world. As I do that, I hope to be a part of the literary community through editing, publishing, and education, elevating my fellow writers to show what they are capable of and help them achieve their dreams.
